Terms of Use
Last updated October 2026
Welcome to Kidaloop.
Kidaloop is a community platform designed to help families pass useful children's items from one family to another.
By creating an account or using Kidaloop, you agree to these Terms of Use.
These Terms explain the basic rules for using the platform and are intended to help keep Kidaloop safe, respectful and useful for everyone.
1. Who can use Kidaloop
Kidaloop accounts are for adults aged 18 or over. Children do not create or manage Kidaloop accounts.
Parents and other adult account holders are responsible for the information, listings and activity associated with their account.
Users must provide accurate account information and keep access to their account secure.
2. Community items
Items shared by members of the Kidaloop community are offered without charge. Community listings are intended for giving and receiving useful items, not for selling them.
Users must not:
- request payment for a community item
- add hidden charges
- auction or bid on community items
- require another user to purchase something in exchange
- use a community listing primarily for commercial selling
Where appropriate, Kidaloop may remove listings or restrict accounts that repeatedly misuse the free community system.
Optional Kidaloop services may have separate service fees, for example future delivery, collection, concierge or other convenience services. Those fees relate to the service provided by Kidaloop, not to the community item itself.
3. Giving an item
When you list an item, you confirm that:
- you have the right to give the item
- the information and photographs are reasonably accurate
- you have described any important defects or missing parts
- the item is not prohibited on Kidaloop
- you are not intentionally offering something you know to be unsafe
Users should make reasonable efforts to share items in a clean and usable condition. Normal signs of previous use are acceptable when clearly represented.
4. Receiving an item
Items on Kidaloop may have been previously used. Recipients are responsible for reviewing the listing and deciding whether an item is suitable for their household or child.
Where appropriate, users should inspect an item before use. Kidaloop does not guarantee that every community item will be unused, perfect or suitable for every individual situation.
5. Safety-sensitive items
Certain categories may require additional care or may be restricted. Kidaloop may:
- prohibit specific categories
- remove recalled or unsafe items
- provide category-specific safety notices
- restrict items that do not meet platform safety rules
Users must not knowingly list recalled, illegal or dangerous products.
6. Technology items
Before giving phones, tablets, computers, game consoles or other electronic devices, users are responsible for removing their personal information. Where applicable, users should:
- factory reset the device
- sign out of personal accounts
- remove activation locks
- remove SIM or memory cards containing personal data
- describe known defects
- indicate whether required chargers or accessories are included
7. Requests and handovers
A request for an item does not create ownership of that item until the giver has accepted the request and the handover has been completed.
Users should communicate honestly and respectfully when arranging collection or handover. If arrangements change, users should update the other person as soon as reasonably possible.
Kidaloop may provide tools for requesting, reserving, collecting or receiving items, but users remain responsible for their interactions with each other.
8. Kidaloop Points and Kidaloop-handled items
Some items may later be handled through a Kidaloop Hub, Drop-off Point, Pickup Point or partner location. Additional instructions may apply to those services.
Where Kidaloop physically handles an item, this does not automatically mean that the item has been professionally certified, repaired, sanitised or safety-tested unless Kidaloop explicitly states otherwise.
9. Respectful use
Kidaloop is built around respectful community sharing. Users must not:
- harass or threaten others
- send abusive or discriminatory messages
- post fraudulent or misleading listings
- impersonate another person
- spam other users
- misuse another person's personal information
- attempt to bypass platform safety features
- use Kidaloop for illegal activity
Users can report listings, messages or accounts that appear to break these rules.
10. Privacy
Kidaloop is designed to limit unnecessary exposure of personal information. Users should avoid sharing unnecessary personal details in public listings or messages.
Information about how Kidaloop collects and handles personal data is explained in the Kidaloop Privacy Policy.
11. Optional paid services
Kidaloop may introduce optional paid services such as:
- Kidaloop+
- collection
- delivery
- concierge services
- other convenience features
Paid services do not provide priority ownership of free community items. Pricing and additional terms must be shown clearly before a user purchases a paid service.
12. Kidaloop+
If Kidaloop+ is introduced, it may provide additional organisation, convenience or family-management features.
Core community functions such as giving, receiving, basic Needs and community matching remain separate from paid convenience features.
13. Suspension or removal
Kidaloop may remove content or restrict an account when reasonably necessary to:
- protect users
- investigate serious reports
- respond to fraud or misuse
- enforce platform rules
- comply with legal obligations
Where appropriate, Kidaloop should provide the user with information about the restriction.
14. Account deletion
Users can request deletion of their Kidaloop account through Settings → Privacy & Data → Delete Account, or via the account deletion page.
Information may be deleted or anonymised according to Kidaloop's Privacy Policy and legitimate retention requirements.
15. Platform availability
Kidaloop may update, improve or temporarily interrupt parts of the service. Although Kidaloop aims to provide a reliable service, uninterrupted availability cannot always be guaranteed.
16. Changes to these Terms
Kidaloop may update these Terms as the platform develops. When meaningful changes are made, we will update the "Last updated" date and provide appropriate notice to users where required.
